It's time to put your dream projects first.
It’s time to activate the magical tool of writing.
It’s time to receive guidance, support and accountability from world class coaches and an amazing community of like-minded women.
It’s time to enter The Writing Experience

Dear Phenomenal Woman,

We see you over there just doing your best. Sometimes feeling great, other times feeling like you’re barely keeping your head above water. And right now, it very well might feel like the latter.

You’re someone who tries what she can around this “self care” thing. You read personal growth books, listen to podcasts, and try to squeeze in some yoga or a meditation here and there.

You’ve got lots of people that rely on you to take care of them are you are responsible for lots of things. Oh, and everyone needs you to be strong, dependable, and resilient. “Never let them see you sweat”, remember?

But, you’re sweating. And we’re not talking sweating in Zumba or spin class, we’re talking sweating as in:

You can’t do all the things while you’re simultaneously putting yourself dead last.

In addition, you keep hearing you need to have “community”, but since many of us have been confined to our homes for a year, that’s been difficult. And maybe making friends has also been last on your priority list for the past decade.

Here’s the truth: right now still kinda sucks. It sucks because so many people are hurting and afraid from what happened in 2020. The uncertainty has people’s anxiety through the roof and many have turned to ways to cope that don’t serve them. Maybe your mind has been spinning with “what if’s” and you can’t seem to process what’s happening around you because you still don’t know what’s happening around you. Or, perhaps, you're waiting for the other shoe to drop because this time last year you felt like the rug got pulled out from under you.

That all might be you...or you might feel somewhat of what we just described and there’s more.

Throughout all of this, you might have a little hope for 2021, perhaps some extra time on your hands, or maybe have been thinking now would be the time to dig into that book that you’ve been saying for years you want to write. Or that blog. Or write and write and write all about the pain your ex put you through, or your mom, or the patriarchy, or whatever heartbreak you’ve experienced. You keep hearing journaling and writing is the key to healing...but you just haven’t yet.

That’s why we’re inviting you to join us for 6 weeks for The Writing Experience.

Let us take you from feeling lost and alone in your life and/or in your writing project, to clear, conscious, and aware.

These 6 weeks are all about laser coaching, accountability, community, being seen and heard, and support from your guides, Amy Ahlers and Andrea Owen.

Our Bestselling Book Babies:

The Writing Experience is a comprehensive solution for established writers, aspirational writers and hobbiest writers to get their projects started, complete or out the door and into the world.

Here's How We'll Roll:

Week 1: We declare our projects. Yours might be to write a book proposal (we can help), or start a blog (we can help with that too), or journal about your divorce or empty nest grief or entire life (yep, we can help), or start that novel. We think you get the picture that we can help with really any writing project you have.

You declare your commitments and this is the week you form your SISTER CIRCLES (optional for those who need and want accountability).

Week 2: Momentum building has begun. We are off to the races! You’ve gotten to know the women in the group, and the energy and power is beginning to swell!

Just like last week, you declare your commitments. This will happen in all the remaining weeks.

Week 3: “Hump Week”! Okay, for some of you the honeymoon may have worn off at this point and you might lose some momentum. If you do, Amy and Andrea are ready for it (this isn’t our first rodeo, ladies!) and we can absolutely support you.

Even if you still feel motivated, we’ll have custom assignments and journal prompts for those that want or need them.

Again, you declare your commitments and you’ll have your (optional) sister circle to lean on. (You’re seeing a trend here, no?)

Week 4: Dig deep or get your butt back on track. This is where we assist you in either the place of adding more “fuel to your fire” or helping you get back on the horse if you’ve happened to fall off. NO WOMAN LEFT BEHIND, is our motto!

Week 5: “Smell the barn”. When horses get near their barn, they have a tendency to pick up the pace and have renewed excitement. (Andrea was one of those adorable horse girls growing up, Amy was not. So this phrase made no sense to Amy and means everything to Andrea.) This week is all about seeing how far you’ve come and keeping the momentum. If you’re feeling short on time, finding bits where you can take time for you and your creativity.

Week 6: Completion, celebration, and commitments to continue. Just because it’s our completion week, doesn’t mean you’re completed in terms of your project! The group will continue to be open with your community sisters so you can keep going with the conversations and accountability.

Bottom line: We want you to work on your writing project so that you can either follow your dream, or cultivate the self-awareness and healing you deserve.

This program is for women ready to come together in sisterhood to breathe life into their writing projects. And we'll hold your hand every step of the way.

Your Enrollment Includes:

✅Six weekly group coaching calls with Andrea and Amy. These calls are 90 minutes on Zoom on Thursdays and you will have an opportunity to share and be coached live.

✅Five accountability (aka “get shit done”) calls dedicated to you working on your project. These Tuesday hour-long calls (in addition to the coaching calls, on different days) where we simply get together on Zoom, spend just a few minutes naming what we’re working on, and we get to work. Sort of like virtual co-working without the loud chewing!

✅Accountability Sister Circle so you can create deeper connections and support for your writing. An optional part of The Writing Experience is being matched up with an incredible sister circle. We’ll be the matchmakers, putting you in a small group of like-minded, and time zone friendly, women so you can soar!

✅Weekly Question thread in the Facebook group. Last year there were dozens of comments each week in these threads with questions like book recommendations for writing a memoir, tips on writing sales copy, and how to organize characters in a fiction novel. No question is off limits!

✅Community of creative women just like you. Andrea and Amy have been facilitating groups of women for 35 years between the two of them. Both of them know how powerful the group dynamic is when women come together for a shared purpose. There is power in these groups, not to mention tremendous love and support.

✅Bonus Audio Library. See below for these incredibly valuable bonus audios featuring conversations with top notch bestselling authors, a book proposal coach, and the head of the #1 self-help publishing house. Download the audios to keep them forever!

FAQ's

We’re still in a pandemic, why should I do this?

If this feels like you can’t simply take on one more thing or it will break you, we understand completely.

On the other hand, if not now, when? When things calm down (May? June? Dec? 2045?), will you then do the thing you keep saying you want to do? Will you find the community, have the accountability, and make the commitments?

We need community and creativity now more than ever. If you can get that somewhere else, we are ecstatic for you and are giving you virtual high fives! If you can’t, we would love to be that community and creative outlet for you.

Money is uncertain, should I do this?

First, if you're have issues with keeping the lights on or food in the fridge, now is not the time for you. If you're doing OK or awesome, then the real question is why are you using money as an excuse? If you feel the call to join us, we are ready to greet you with open arms and are 100% certain that investing in yourself, your dreams, and your projects can only contribute to goodness in the world.

What if I’m not sure I’ll have time to do this?

You set the pace and make the commitments of how much work you do. If you want to write only 250 words a week, then that’s perfect! The coaching calls are optional and there’s recordings of each of them, and the accountability calls are just that-- accountability calls. You can also ask for accountability in your time frame in the Facebook group! Honestly, the bonuses alone are worth the price of admission.

What if I don’t want to write a book?

This is definitely not only for people who want to write books! It can be that, or if you want to start a blog, or write poetry, or simply journal your heart out.

We know writing can be both a catharsis, or it can be a career. This program is for anyone who has a desire to write in community and get support and coaching around that.

Can I really finish my project in 6 weeks?

Maybe, maybe not. It really depends on what you want to do. For example, a book proposal might take you more than 6 weeks, depending on if you have any of the manuscript already done. But, it’s possible to get it done in 6 weeks! A novel that you're in process with already might actually get done with this level of support. We had a woman finish her novel in the course and a woman who had been dragging her feet on getting her self-help proposal done complete it. It depends on you and your project.

When we’re done, the goal is for you to have huge momentum, have made a lasting community, and many times when these programs are done, the women continue their friendships and create their own accountability groups!

We don’t want you to stress over finishing your project, that’s not the point! The point is to have community, encouragement, coaching, guidance, learning, awareness and a damn good time.

How do I know if this is for me?

If you’ve been wanting to write a book and/or a book proposal, and would love to learn from two successful authors, this is for you. If you’ve been thinking about starting a blog but have done nothing but procrastinate, this is for you. If you want to write your way into your life-- journal about your joy, heartbreak and everything in between, this is for you. And if you know you want to write and want us to help you start, this is for you.

Why am I still even reading all these FAQ’s?

We think because you really like us and want to sign up for this program to hang with us and let us love on you?

How does this course differ from other writing courses?

This course has a high level of guidance and accountability, combined with getting expert advice from two bestselling, traditionally published authors, and an awesome community of women. That's pretty unique and cool. Plus, if you dig us, Amy and Andrea, and feel like we are your people (or might be), then hop on board.

What if I don’t know what my project is but I like you two?

If you feel drawn to this program (which, of course you are!) but don’t have a writing project, we can certainly make suggestions for journaling. We have plenty of writing prompts and you can pick and choose! We’re happy to guide you that way.

With all your expertise, why is this program priced so low?

We went back and forth about the investment level for this program, and ultimately decided we wanted it to be under $500 so that people who want access to this level of accountability can get it. Since working with us individually as coaches is such a big investment, this is a way for us to impact more people. On the other hand, if we price programs too low, people tend to not commit because there isn’t much skin in the game.

Bottom line: we want to serve as many people as possible and this price point will allow this. And since we’re leading this together (so fun!) we view it as a win-win-win. You get to be in an amazing community of women, you get a low price point, and we get to be with you and each other!

I tend to start things and not finish them. How will I be held accountable to stay on track?

We will be literally writing together on the "get shit done" calls. PLUS you have the option to sign up for a sister circle to help you amp up the accountability.

Can I get feedback from Andrea and Amy on my writing or manuscript?

Yes, on short pieces of writing (200 words or less) if you do the deluxe package. You can always ask for kind and compassionate feedback from your sisters in the group! If you’d like more concise feedback from Amy and/or Andrea on bigger writing projects, there is bigger private coaching packages you can explore by emailing our team leader, Sarah, at sarah@wakeupcallcoaching.com

I know you both write non-fiction and are traditionally published. What if I want to write fiction and/or self publish?

We have BONUSES that will cover this! Check out the interviews in our Bonus Audio Library (just above this section), featuring interviews with novelist, Melanie Abrams, and self-published romance writer, Christina James!

When are the live calls and what technology is used for the calls and community?

  • Week One: March 25th: First Class/Group Coaching

The Impact of Working with Amy and Andrea

The Writing Experience came along at exactly the right time for me!

I thought I might be lost in the shuffle of more established writers, but having people at different steps in their writing careers was so helpful! Everyone was incredibly generous with ideas, tools, and support. Amy and Andrea kept the flow of the class smooth and their love for what they do and sharing with other writers was clear. There have been only a handful of classes (out of SO MANY) that I can say made a big dent in they way I think about writing, and this is one of them. So glad I was there!

- Lisa Duncan

Andrea and Amy are the best!

They are both terrific writers (and best-selling authors) and are knowledgeable about publishing and social media. Plus, they are kind, generous and funny! The structure and support their program provided allowed me to finally complete a book I've been working on years!

 - Virginia Bell, New York

Coaching with Amy really helped me search within me, rather than outside of me.

I learned I can actually accomplish what I set out to do.

 - Helen De La Cruz, Account Manager, Oakwood Housing Worldwide

The word AWESOME just isn't enough!

It's hard to summarize how I feel about The Writing Experience with Amy and Andrea. As a writer in the making, finding my voice and developing my message were huge milestones achieved in just 6 short weeks. The groups coaching calls were what I loved most, next to meeting so many amazing women! Thank you Amy and Andrea for this fan-freaking-tastic experience!

- Kylie Windsor-van Gelder

- Sharla Mandere from San Diego

Andrea is a perfect combination of being real and compassionate at the same time.

After working together, I finally had the courage to create a consulting company. I had been thinking about it for a long time, I brought it up in one of our sessions, and there was NO WAY Andrea was going to let that slide! She challenged me to purchase the domain name right away (which I did) and just START. No more listening to fear that I should wait, or what if it didn’t work out, etc. I just went for it!

Andrea is a perfect combination of being real and compassionate at the same time. That allowed me to know that I needed to do something different, and I actually wanted to, because I knew she thought it was best for me.

- Jessica Sharp

Thank you for encouraging me to strive for more and chase my dreams.

It was a fantastic experience overall! I cannot thank Amy and Andrea enough for making this affordable and possible. I really needed it. You are both amazing women. I have the utmost respect for both of you.

- Robyn Mrnak

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this writing group.

It is a small family that is rooting you along the way, there to push you past your comfort zone, and cheer your celebrations along the way. I have grown so much in this group as a woman, mother, and writer. I have learned that it is not about the marathon but one word, sentence, and paragraph at a time. I also learned that I am a writer even if I have not published a book, I have found my voice and the courage to be the writer I want to be. The strength, courage, and power of this group of women is phenomenal and will change your life forever!

- Christina S.

100% Money Back Guarantee

All that we ask is that you give the program a good "college try" and show up.
